It seems sometimes that technology is running away with us all! We realised that building a website which really takes advantage of all the technical solutions available to us, would build the best foundation for our business. Working with Simon and the team at Zync, who have such a strong understanding of what’s technically possible, has been a game changer for both our website and our business.
Kim Knight, Co-owner, Peak District Pub
Background
Peak District Pub Tours (PDPT) is the brain child of husband-and-wife team Greg and Kim Knight. After having successfully offered company team-building, hen & stag events and family gatherings for over two decades, the couple knew they had the credentials to develop a new business dedicated to pub tours across the popular Peak District area. Where they needed help was in building a new website.
A website that integrates seamlessly with a CRM
What was clear to the couple was that integrating their technologies from the outset would not only improve their customer experience but also streamline key processes to save lots of time.
With an in-depth understanding of all things technical, Simon and the team at Zync were able to steer Kim and Greg in the right direction on which functionality and workflows would best suit both the business and its clientele.
One particular specialism for the Zync team is their long-held experience of working with JCM Business Solutions to implement Zoho CRM & marketing systems. This detailed understanding of the Zoho suite has enabled them to set up a website that seamlessly integrates and works cohesively with all elements of Zoho that Kim and Greg want to take advantage of, both now and in the future. For example, when someone submits a web enquiry, their details are automatically populated in the Zoho CRM, similarly when someone signs up to PDPT’s newsletter.
As Kim points our, “The reason we chose Simon as our web developer was because of his technical skills and know-how. It’s been so helpful that, as well as designing and developing the site, he’s set everything up in the back end of Zoho in the way we need it to work. Setting up the website correctly from the start, with all the functionality it needs, really is paying dividends.“
Whilst the new website has garnered lots of positive feedback on its clear and compelling design, its appeal really is beyond the aesthetic.
As Simon Withington, Director at Zync points out, “This really was a technically exciting project. Kim and Greg were looking for an online booking process that offered a more simplified alternative to the likes of Shopify. Instead of a longer customer journey which requires items to be added to a basket and involves a checkout process, we’ve developed functionality so that PDPT customers simply enter their email address and card details, and the booking is complete.“
Why take out a website retainer?
Developing the new PDPT website has been an iterative process. Regular weekly meetings provided an opportunity for Zync to report back on progress and to keep Kim and Greg focused.
Kim explains: “Building a new website is no easy undertaking. Simon was wholly focused on listening to what we needed but, at the same time, also making sure we didn’t end up down too many rabbit holes or being distracted by the detail. Greg and I have very different ideas too so Simon’s diplomatic approach certainly helped! Without Simon’s guidance the website would not yet be live.“
It made perfect sense that putting in place a retainer with Zync would allow the couple to continue to benefit from this vital technical knowledge.
With the team at Zync, we know we’re in the safest of hands and our ongoing retainer gives us the certainty that we’re future-proofing our approach.
